I will truly never tire of photographing couples in the City of Love. Paris is a dreamy scene for lovers with its romantic streets and stunning architecture. These fit so perfectly together creating an undeniably spectacular backdrop of romance and splendor for every couple getting engaged or saying their vows in the city. It’s as if Paris was built precisely with this in mind. Honestly, it is such intensely awe-inspiring magic with every click of my shutter.
Today, I am pleased to share with you an elegant Parisien elopement exuding timeless, Old World romance with a subtle nod to modernity. Inspired by a romance-forward aesthetic infused with soft pastels, and just a touch of whimsy, this elopement was planned and orchestrated by the incredibly talented Romance Wedding Paris.
We began the day at L’ Hôtel Splendide Royal Paris located a stone’s throw from the Champs-Elysées in the heart of the 8th arrondissement. The bride wore an etherial gown from Top Bridal Paris paired with a gorgeous couture headpiece adorned with pearls, crystals and delicate porcelain flowers from Lena Rom, DIOR accessories and a natural and sophisticated bridal look by Kristy Li Makeup. A perfectly lush pastel bouquet for the bride designed by Akiko Usami completed the ensemble. The groom donned a striking green suit that paired perfectly with the city’s landscape. Together, they made such an elegant couple and were truly a dream to photograph.
The bride and groom enjoyed a private champagne toast and a decadent cake handcrafted by Mon Sukre on the hotel suite’s balcony before heading out to have their portraits taken at some of the city’s most iconic locations.
As once can imagine, Paris really has no shortage of dreamy locations or cinematic light for couples wishing to immortalize their love in the city. With the hotel’s close proximity to so many of these storied places, we chose the opulent entrance of the Petit Palais and the famed Pont Alexandre III bridge nearby. The extravagance of their gilded detailing is truly quintessential Parisien architecture. It is every bit of what causes tourist after tourist to fall in love with the splendor of the city.
In my opinion, no romantic elopement in Paris is complete without the presence of the Eiffel Tower in the backdrop of your photos. So, for our last location, we headed to a hidden street with a perfect view of the majestic Iron Lady. It felt like something right out of a movie to have such a stunning couple and some of the most beautiful architecture the world’s eyes have ever beheld together in a scene.
